Dr. David Tanen grew up in Long Island, NY, in a small town called West Hempstead. He completed his undergraduate studies at Binghamton University, earning a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in Biological Sciences.
From there, he spent a year teaching college students organic and general chemistry in underprivileged communities throughout New York City. Dr. Tanen went on to graduate from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, obtaining his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree.
During his time at Boston University, he performed research on a cure for ectodermal dysplasia and honed his skills in all facets of digital dentistry. He further advanced his clinical training by completing an intensive one-year General Practice Residency at Bellevue Hospital in NYC, where he gained extensive experience in dental emergencies, non-surgical and surgical extractions, dental implantology, and socket preservation techniques.
Dr. Tanen currently lives in East Memphis with his wife and their two dogs, Stella and Gus. A passionate New York sports fan, he enjoys snowboarding in the winter and hiking in the summer.
